It is fitting on this special Day of Celebration that we will mark both the end of the Jacksonville Lincoln Bicentennial and the beginning of our nation's new government which Lincoln made sure that no one ever again would forget as being forged in the words that “All men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights--life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” A parade. fireworks, and, perhaps, an outdoor pops symphony concert will cap the grand finale of Lincoln's 200th Anniversary Year.
